About EIS, Waste Services

EIS Waste Services is a local company, based in Aberdeen from where collection, treatment, recycling and waste disposal services are provided throughout the North East of Scotland.  As a long established waste removal company our priority has always been to provide a prompt  reliable service available 24 hours a day.

The comprehensive range of services is backed by over 40 years` experience of many aspects of waste collection, recycling and disposal in the industrial, commercial, construction and domestic sectors.

Our client companies are of all sizes, from local authorities to many of the area`s major industries.  These include the oil industry, construction, commercial and engineering companyies as well as retail and shipping enterprises.

EIS Waste Services has developed a new modern Treatment/Transfer/Recycling Facility at Gallowhill, Checkbar, Nigg, Aberdeen. We are continually looking at new technologies to expand the range of services for our Clients.

The Company has a large Transport and Waste Collection capability with extra Skip, Ro/Ro and Compaction vehicles currently being added to increase our general waste collection/sorting capabilities. Paper, Plastics, Wood, Cardboard, Rubble, Soils and Metals are removed from the general waste streams and either processed on site or transferred to appropriately licensed Recycle Facilities for further processing.

The Company has also modified its existing Waste Management Licence to provide the following additional storage, keeping and treatment options:

a)   the designation of an area for the carrying out of the crushing of building rubble, bricks, concrete and rock utilising a portable rock-crushing and screening plant.
b)   the installation of bays to provide undercover storage for segregated recyclables .
c)  extension to working area to allow new buildings. Now accommodation a dirty materials recycling facility (MRF) for light commercial and industrial waste. Also, clean MRF for source segregated recyclables.
d)   The installation of a Confidential Shredding System for the secure recycling of documentation and other confidential/counterfeit material.

With these Modifications the Gallowhill Facility has modern bulk storage facilities for non-hazardous and special wastes and comprehensive waste sorting facilities to maximise our developing waste recycle capabilities.

Prior to development of the Gallowhill Facility the Company concentrated on the uplift and direct delivery of wastes to landfill. With the establishment of our new facility in 1999 our current waste recycling capabilities have more than halved the previous tonnages being delivered to landfill.

Current recycle capability is in the region of 80% and with our further improvements and additions to our segregation equipment EIS Waste Services is confident of increasing recycle capabilities to over 90%.
